Annual Exams

Regular visits to our hospital are the best way to keep your pet healthy and to prevent problems from worsening or becoming too costly. We recommend yearly wellness exams for every cat and dog, although more frequent visits may be encouraged (especially for puppies / kittens and senior pets). The wellness visit is also a good time to voice your concerns and ask questions.

Vaccinations

Vaccines are crucial to protecting your pet from unwanted illness. When determining appropriate vaccinations, our veterinarians take into account many factors including lifestyle, age, and risk for certain diseases. At the annual wellness exam we will discuss strategies for year-round parasite prevention.

Microchipping

Microchipping is the safest and easiest way to locate your pet should you become separated. If your pet goes missing, most hospitals and humane societies have electronic scanners which can read your pet’s microchip. Each chip (about the size of a grain of rice) contains your name and contact information, ensuring a successful reunion. The procedure to microchip your pet is as simple as receiving a vaccine, and it remains active for the duration of his or her life.
